St. Luke's Church comprises of two Worship Centres:
Revd. Tim Hughes is Priest-in-Charge of St Luke's parish and is based principally at Gas Street.
Revd. Amanda Howett is Parish Priest of St Luke's parish and is based principally at Great Colmore Street.
We are a church where you will find a very warm welcome. We are a diverse group of people from all sorts of backgrounds so whoever you are you will feel at home with us.
Together we are seeking to worship God, grow as disciples of Jesus and to show God’s love to those in our community.
Our Sunday worship is at 9am and 11am.
It is always a Communion service at 9am and Communion at 11am twice a month. Our worship at 11am is more informal and there is a group for children during the service.
To get to know Jesus more and to follow him in our day to day lives we have resources for individuals, meet in prayer triplets and have groups that study the bible, pray together and support one another. We have regular groups to enable people to explore the Christian faith, these invite people to explore the big questions of life.
We have an amazing church centre which we use for a whole range of activities to serve the local community. Our vision is to be ‘Light in the Community’
In the Bible Jesus says ‘I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full’ we believe this promise to be true and we seek to know the truth of it for ourselves and to share this with others.
Please contact Rev Amanda about our church life, exploring the Christian faith, weddings, baptisms and funerals or anything else about St Luke’s.
Since 2015 we now have a second church St Luke’s Gas Street in this area of the city and St Luke’s Great Colmore Street and St Luke’s Gas Street work closely together.
There are Sunday gatherings at Gas Street at 10.30am, 4pm and 6.30pm.
In Matthew 5:14 (MSG) Jesus says “You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in our world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.” The source of the ‘light’, that we pray will pour out of this building, is the love and power of Jesus Christ.
The vision at Gas Street is to not only create a space where people from all walks of life can experience that love and power, but also to create a community of believers who carry that light into their every day lives.
St Luke's offers a wide range of facilities within its centre as a venue for meetings and conferences, with space for up to 150 delegates, with modern kitchen and disabled access (including hearing loop and level access to all the site)
We are conveniently situated within walking distance of Birmingham's main train stations and bus routes, and have on site parking.
Please feel free to contact Jerome Belgrave, Centre Manager, email; firstname.lastname@example.org for any activities related to the Centre, or to arrange a visit, or a book any of the rooms.
