How to find St Luke’s Church Great Colmore Street:


From Bristol Street

St Luke’s is just off Bristol Street (A38), one of the main routes through the city centre. Turn left by the Ibis Hotel and you will find us up the hill on the right hand side.


From Five Ways

From Five Ways turn left down Bath Row, right into Cregoe Street and left into Great Colmore Street. We are situated next to St Thomas’s School.

PLEASE NOTE: There are currently some changes in bus routes due to construction occurring in the City. Do check with drivers/local  timetables if using buses.

Bus 63 along Bristol Street. Please alight by Bristol Street Motors, cross road and walk to St Catherines. Turn left and walk up Great Colmore Stree.  The church is on the right.


Buses 98, 99, 80 run near to the centre. Please alight at Perry Beeches 3, and walk down Cregoe Street, then left onto Great Colmore Street.  The church is on the left.

Car Parking


We have on-site parking for 30 vehicles at the side of the centre (2 of these spaces are reserved for disabled visitors), there are also a further 2 disabled parking spaces at the front of the building.

There is wheelchair access to all areas of the building

A hearing loop is installed in the main hall (worship area)

The disabled toilet also has a baby changing area

Our Parish

The Parish of St Luke is part of the Diocese of Birmingham which is divided into several Deaneries.  St Luke’s is part of the Deanery of Central Birmingham.


Your PCC

St Luke’s Parochial Church Council (PCC) comprises Clergy and elected “Lay” members, i.e. members of the congregation.  In addition, members that have been elected to the Deanery and Diocesan Synods are automatically members of the PCC.

The principal function of the PCC is to “promote in the parish the whole mission of the Church”.

Church & PCC Meetings


The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is an annual meeting of all members and friends, and the next one has been scheduled for 16 April 2018 (7-8pm).   Members that are on the Electoral Roll, which is updated on a regular basis, are able to vote on proposals put forward by the PCC at the APCM.  This includes voting for new PCC, Deanery and Diocesan Synod members as needed.


The dates for PCC meetings following the 2017 APCM have been agreed as follows (7-8pm):

Great Colmore Street and Gas Street Committees

St Luke's Parish has two sites: Great Colmore Street (which is the parish church), and Gas Street.  Each site is managed independently by local committees appointed by the Priest-in-Charge and the Parish Priest, who exercise delegated powers from the PCC.  The make of of each committee was discussed and agreed at the PCC meeting on June 12, 2017.
